I have been reading a lot lately, as I’m sure many of you have about the gun grabbing attempts on both the local level (CA AB1014) as well as the Federal level (no fly/no guns, among many others). Now, I don’t know your temperament, your pain threshold, but I’m fed up! Our rights are being stripped away right under our noses, all in the name of safety. Ironically, I have never felt less safe in regards to our own government!
The government is making decisions that are “for the greater good”, but the only ones benefiting from their decisions are themselves and their cronies! They are setting up a system of controls where your rights are no longer rights but privileges to be given and taken away on a whim by the supreme leader!
The Federal government has become too bloated and powerful. It holds powers that the Founding Fathers never intended it to have. In fact they created checks and balances to keep this sort of thing from happening! So what happened? NOTHING! Every time politicians overstepped their bounds, nothing happened.
Get caught lying: sit in the “hot seat”, feign ignorance, create a distraction, and wait for the next news cycle. BOOM problem solved! When did this become SOP for the Federal government? How did they become more powerful then We the People?
Since when is the President able to simply go against our wishes and force his will on us? If he doesn’t get his way he acts like a selfish child and goes around Congress and creates executive orders to do whatever he wants! Even worse than that is the fact that NO ONE in Congress does a damn thing about it!
This, my fellow patriots is what we’ve all been talking about. Obviously talking isn’t working! The liberals don’t care about your rights except to take them away. Are we going to continue to sit around and complain about it on Facebook? Or is it time to take a stand, actually stand up, and decide to do something?
Please don’t like this post if that’s all you’re willing to do. I’m not writing this to get a lot of likes. I’m writing this post to see who’s willing to unite with fellow gun owners and make a difference! We have been vilified long enough! I for one am tired of being blamed for the actions of a few whack-jobs or local terrorists.
We’re asking you to comment on what & where you’re willing to take a stand! Is it in front of the local sheriff’s office? Is it a road trip to Sacramento to openly protest the do-nothing politicians who are allowing or supporting the stripping away of our rights? You tell us, what are you willing to do to defend your basic rights?
We’re asking you all to share this post, along with your own personal feelings on the subject. Tell us, tell everyone how you feel! Tell us you’re mad! If you’re not mad, then you are part of the problem. I’m mad! I personally have been told by a local “NRA guy” to “NOT protest, to not make a scene because it will end up benefiting the gun grabbers unless we get 250,000 people to show up…” Well I may not know the political games that they play in the state and Federal level, but I know that I am fed up with being a part of the group that always loses! Always gives up our rights!
I don’t have to tell you things are bad. Everybody knows things are bad. It’s a depression. Everybody’s out of work or scared of losing their job. The dollar buys a nickel’s worth; banks are going bust; shopkeepers keep a gun under the counter; punks are running wild in the street & universities , and there’s nobody anywhere who seems to know what to do, and there’s no end to it.
We know the air is unfit to breathe and our food is unfit to eat. And we sit watching our TVs while some local newscaster tells us that today we had fifteen homicides and sixty-three violent crimes, as if that’s the way it’s supposed to be!
We all know things are bad — worse than bad — they’re crazy.
It’s like everything everywhere is going crazy, so we don’t go out any more. We sit in the house, and slowly the world we’re living in is getting smaller, and all we say is, “Please, at least leave us alone in our living rooms. Let me have my toaster and my TV and my internet, and I won’t say anything. Just leave us alone.”
Well, I’m not going to leave you alone.
“I want you to get mad! I don’t want you to protest. I don’t want you to riot. I don’t want you to write to your Congressman, because I wouldn’t know what to tell you to write. I don’t know what to do about the gun grabbers, the liberals and ISIS and the crime in the street.
All I know is that first, you’ve got to get mad. You’ve gotta say, “I’m a human being, goddammit! My life has value!”
So, I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!”
I’m amazed at how little I had to change from that famous rant of forty years ago. But, don’t yell out your window, your neighbors will probably call the cops and tell them that you’re a danger to yourself and others… Instead, go to the NRA, the CRPA, the GOA, whoever you ally yourself with and tell them how mad you are! Ask them what they are doing to make a difference in this mess! More importantly ask them how you can help!
Yes, you actually have to get involved. No more sitting on the sidelines, waiting to be told what to be offended by. No more waiting for the talking heads on the nightly news to tell you about your rights being taken away “for your own good”! It’s time to be on the nightly news! It’s time to take a stand, and take our country back! It’s time to make America an object of pride, not embarrassment.
If you don’t belong to any gun rights group shame on you! We need leadership & direction. We need organization & focus. Most are fairly inexpensive to join and have the mechanisms in place to make an impact. But they can’t do it alone, you have to step up and do your part. Freedom is never free!
If you are part of the NRA, search for your local Member’s Council. They hold monthly meetings you can attend to hear what’s being done in your community. I plan on attending the next MC meeting in my area & I urge you to as well.
Bottom line is, we don’t have the answers, but we need to start asking questions and demanding answers. We need to find who will hold our representatives’ feet to the fire! We also need to be willing to get in there and stoke the flames when needed. What are you willing to do?
Stand up, do your part & GOD bless America!
